Now, shall you deal with ME, O Prince - and all the powers of HELL!
------------------------------- Update: Tuesday, Jan 15th - Adjusted color levels in the face and neck to give more depth. Added slight green highlight from the staff orb. Fixed the stiff looking pinky slightly. ------------------------------- Cloaked in shadows, wreathed in flames, I give you the magnificent Maleficent and her raven Diablo.
She. Is. DOOOONE! Oh I am proud of this one! From sketch to finish I love it. I love everything about it. I could spend forever adding more details and adjusting but I'll leave it alone for now. ;D
To all those viewing this image: I always enjoy opinions and critique. While I may not change this image; I can always learn from mistakes, that myself and others see, and apply corrections to my next painting.
If you hate fan art, or just plain don't like Maleficent: Well then that's tough titty kitty.

Adobe Photoshop CS4, Wacom Intuos 4, and around 6 hours. Huzzah for getting faster!
I like how you've given such a well known character a different feel and look, while retaining the the original essence. I like the fact that you given a a more mature look without being an old hag or overly sexual. The only thing that draws my attention is her hand, specifically her knuckles. They seem too flat without enough definition which in turn makes her fingers seem a bit flat against the glowing ball which is the second thing my eyes are drawn to. The composition, colors and the piece overall is very well done and excellent. I look forward to seeing more of your excellent work in the future.
This is very nicely done. The color green in the background does a good job at contrasting the main focus. The crow is a nice touch and is well done. I also like how the face and horns are perfectly symmetrical. The make-up on her face is very pretty and the color of her skin matches well, and I like how it is slightly tinted green. Not sure if you did this by chance or you were doing it because of the green glow around her, either way, good job. Overall this is very well done. The only thing I could say negatively would be that the orb and staff look a little roughly done, but still very nice.
The Disney Maleficent definately has a more 'matron of the silver screen' quality to her and less 'really freaking evil', not that this is a bad thing. Lord knows she was the start of the whole sexy bad women thing for me. lol
Definately have to have the hair. That cowl thing wasn't working for me.
